36 Things I Want for Christmas

Christmas is right around the corner, and I'm going to honest with you: This year, I want a LOT of stuff. Sure, that sounds pretty greedy, but hear me out. I have a six-month-old son, which means that my days involve diaper changes, drool, screaming tantrums, and wearing the same puke-stained shirt over and over again. I could really use some pampering products since most of the time it feels like all I do is Pamper my little poop machine.

So here is my actual, real, honest-to-goodness Christmas list that I plan on forwarding to my friends and family members immediately.

This Drying Rack Because I'm Pretty Much Always Washing Bottles

via: Amazon

I spend about a third of each day washing bottles and bottle accessories. The problem is, since I hand-wash them all, I don't really have a good place to put them so that they'll dry effectively. I've seen these drying racks that look like grass for a while now and so I figured I'd finally ask for one for Christmas. This would make my life much easier.

These Slippers Because They Look Cozy AF

via: Amazon

The windows in my house are old and do hardly anything to keep the cold out, so I like to cover my body in as many cozy things as possible in order to get through the winter months. These slippers would be perfect, because not only are they super soft and warm-looking, but they'd also be great for quick trips outside with the dog.

This Plush Robe Because Getting Dressed Can Be A Challenge

via: Amazon

Oh, and speaking of cozy, LOOK AT THIS ROBE. I want to live in it. I would wear this thing to the grocery store, the bank, a wedding...I think, as a new Mom, I've earned that right. Seriously, though, having something this soft to throw on over my pajamas every day would be an absolute game-changer. I'd like one in every color, but for now, just one will do.

This One-Line-Per-Day Memory Book Because I Have Zero Time For Scrapbooking

via: Amazon

Someone once said, when it comes to parenting young children, "The days are long but the years are short." This is ridiculously true. Every day feels like it's a week-long. I can barely find time to put on clean clothes, so the thought of doing extensive journaling is absurd. But one line per day is totally doable.

This Baby Einstein Toy Because My Son Is Musical Prodgedy

via: Amazon

My husband is a musician, and we've both been making an effort to introduce music to our son as much as possible. And while he loves smashing on our piano, I'm guessing his sticky fingers and the constant stream of drool coming out of his mouth aren't great for the keys. This musical toy plays music and is super portable for on-the-go jam sessions.

These Yoga Pants Because I Need Pants That STRETCH

via: Amazon

Not only am I still dealing with New Mom Bod, but a large part of my day is spent crawling around on the floor and trying not to make my son scream throughout the entirety of tummy time. So tight, binding pants are just not going to cut it. I do, however, still want to look somewhat pulled together. (I haven't given up entirely. Yet.) These yoga pants are the perfect mix of cute and comfy.

This Ninja Blender Because I'm Going To (Attempt To) Make My Son's Baby Food

via: Amazon

I recently read an article that most baby food contains alarming amounts of lead. I don't know if this is actually true or not, but it was enough to scare me into making all of his pureed baby food from scratch. Sure, it takes even more time out of my already-jam-packed days, but I'm hoping his brain will thank me for it later. This Ninja blender looks like it would make the process about a million times faster and easier.

This Baby Dome Because Nap Time Can Strike Anywhere

via: Amazon

We've finally gotten into a pretty consistent nap schedule, but on the days when he skips one (or both) naps, nighttime is a pretty big disaster. So I've been looking for an easy way to make nap time a possibility wherever we may go. This Fischer Price Baby Dome looks like it would be just the ticket. It's much more portable than hauling around a huge Pack-N-Play but is still large enough for him not to grow out of immediately.

This Teething Necklace Because It's Pretty And Functional

via: Amazon

My son has been teething like crazy lately, and anything he can grab and shove into his mouth, he does. So I've been trying to find something for him to chew on that won't rip up his gums and will actually make him feel better. This teething necklace not only features a variety of different shapes and textures, but it's also surprisingly cute!

This Bathtub Tray Because I Need Some ME TIME

via: Amazon

In case you haven't already gathered, my life is fairly hectic. It's filled with endless diaper changes, middle-of-the-night feedings, calming tantrums, and just trying to keep another human being alive. It's...a lot. And I rarely get to take any time to pamper myself and just relax. Just looking at this woman relaxing in a hot, bubbly tub while sipping a glass of wine is enough to bring a tear to my eye. I need this in my life.

This Cool Thermoas Because Coffee

via: Amazon

Not only do I love coffee, tea, and pretty much any other hot beverage, I also have a complete aversion to lukewarm drinks, meaning if a liquid that was supposed to be enjoyed hot becomes room-temperature, I'm forced to dunk it down the drain. I simply cannot stomach it. This mug tumbler would keep my hot drinks hot, my cold drinks cold, and help me to avoid spills. Also, it's pretty.

This Cute Headband Because Showering Is Hard

via: Amazon

I don't remember the last time I actually had a "good" hair day. If I actually get around to washing it, I always just throw it up into a messy (and not in the good way) bun so that my son won't try to hank it out by the tiny fistful. This cool turban-style headband would transform a lazy hairstyle into something that actually looks chic.

This Placemat Because Solid Food is Messy

via: Amazon

Now that my son is starting to eat solid foods, a more experienced Mom friend of mine recently asked me if I had one of those "happy placemat things". I had no idea what she was talking about, so I went home and Googled it. Turns out, tons of parents swear by these plate/placemat hybrids. So naturally, now I want one. Or three.

These Sensory Balls Because My Kid Needs Constant Stimulation

via: Amazon

My kid gets bored easily. It seems like I'm always bringing him a new toy to play with and for about 10 minutes he'll examine it, shake it around for a bit, then throw it on the floor angrily and demand something new. It makes getting work done rather difficult. These sensory balls were made to stimulate multiple senses, come in four vibrant colors, and are virtually indestructible. I'm hoping he'll play with them for about 20 minutes before throwing them on the floor.

These Under Eye Patches Because Sleep Is But A Distant Memory

via: Amazon

Even though my son has started to sleep for much longer stretches during the night, I still have to get up at least once to feed him, and sometimes he decides that 4 am is morning and is ready to take on the day before sunrise. Needless to say, the bags under my eyes seem to have taken up permanent residence. I'm hoping these cooling undereye patches will help to refresh and de-puff.

This Tool Kit Because My House Is Falling Apart

via: Amazon

Here's a word of advice from someone who should have known better: Don't buy a really, really old house that's desperately in need of repairs if you're in no way handy. It'll just make your life ridiculously difficult, and every day it'll seem like something new has broken and you're left trying to fix it yourself with minimal know-how. This tool kit is at least a start of becoming more of a "handy" homeowner.

This Baby Jumper Because My Son Is A Bundle Of Energy

via: Amazon

Keeping is 6-month-old occupied is harder than you'd think. Sure, they're easily distracted by shiny things, but there are only so many toys with flashing lights you can put in front of them before they start to get bored and crave more stimulation. This is why I've been wanting to get one of these baby jumpers for a while now. I'm hoping I can plop him down in this thing and he can jump to his heart's content while I get some actual work done.

These Teethers Because Teething Crankiness Is Real

via: Amazon

The level of crabbiness my son is currently dishing out is, in a word, challenging. He just started teething, so he's constantly drooling, chewing on his fingers, and shoving things into his mouth that don't belong there. (Shoes, blankets, the dog's tail...) I've decided to invest in some things that actually do belong in his mouth, like these fun silicone teethers.

These Lettes To My Baby Because They're A Super Sweet Idea

via: Amazon

I love the idea of being able to write my son letters now when he's still tiny and saving them for the special moments in his life later on. Sure, it makes me want to ugly cry to imagine him growing up at some point, but the idea of a "paper time-capsule" is really neat, and I think this would be something that we'd both cherish.

These Diapers Because Poop Happens (A Lot)

via: Amazon

I change a lot of diapers during the day. In fact, some days it feels like all I do all day long is change diapers. Because of this, I've quickly figured out which diapers are superior and which ones fall short. The Honest Company diapers are the cream of the crop, and not only provide major leak protection, but they're also made without any of the bad stuff.

This Nose Frida Because Babies Are Surprisingly Snotty

via: Amazon

Okay, I'm going to describe this product to you, and I need you to try to keep an open mind. To use it, you place one end of the tube in your child's nose and the other in your mouth. Then, you suck out the snot. It sounds disgusting, right? I thought so, too. But apparently, based on what other Moms have told me, it's a MUST when your kid has a cold. Fun!

This Play Mat Because It's Both Pretty And Practical

via: Amazon

Like I said earlier, I spend a lot of time on the floor playing with my baby, and because I'm getting old, it seriously kills my knees. I have hardwood floors, so I always have to lay down multiple thick blankets that end up being a tripping hazard. This mat would save my knees and my sanity. Plus, it has a darling llama pattern!

This Carseat Cover Because Wisconsin Is Really, Really Cold

via: Amazon

Winter in Wisconsin is no laughing matter. In fact, it's more of a crying matter, since every time I have to venture outdoors when it's -20 degrees I want to cry. In an effort to keep my son protected from the polar vortex, I want to add this cozy contraption to my car seat setup. Do they make one of these for adults?

This Prop-A-Pillar Because Tummy Time Is Important

via: Amazon

My son has become a tummy time master, and we've recently started working on getting him to sit up on his own. It would be a whole lot easier (and more fun) with this nifty little Prop-A-Pillar, which has a ton of different uses. He can be draped over it while on his belly, leaned up against it for supported sitting, or simply marvel at the colorful patterns and textures.

This Bottle Steralizer Because Germs Are Everywhere

via: Amazon

I wash my bottles by hand, and every time I do I worry that I'm somehow not getting them clean enough or leaving a little bit of soap residue inside that could make my son sick. In order to put my fears aside, I've decided that it's time to get one of these bottle sterilizers, which makes sure all germs are sent packing.

These Fresh Food Feeders Because They're Way Easier Than Purees

via: Amazon

It turns out making baby food involves a whole lot of work. Depending on what you're making, most often you have to dice it up, steam it until it's soft, then blend it until it's perfectly smooth. But with these fresh food feeders, I could just stick something inside, such as a piece of a ripe banana, and let him feed himself. That sounds like a dream.

This Facial Mist Set Because My Skin Needs Help

via: Amazon

From the lack of sleep to the infrequent face washing before bed (most nights I'm too exhausted to even put on my pajamas, which is why I sometimes just leave them on all day long), my skin is suffering. It needs help, and these facial mists seem like they'd be just what the doctor ordered. This three-piece sets comes with three scents: Lavender, cucumber, and rose.

This Hair Mask Because My Hair Needs Some TLC

via: Amazon

I recently cut most of my hair off in what people have been referring to as the "Mom Chop", which I'm not sure if I should be offended by or not. But now that it's finally healthy-looking and easy to manage I want to keep it that way. That's where this deep-conditioning hair mask comes in. I can use it once per week to keep my locks in top shape.

This Pajama Set Because I Spend Most Of My Days In PJs

via: Amazon

I never thought I'd reach the point in my life where "stylish pajamas" would be so high on my wish list (or, more specifically, that I'd reach that point before turning 80 years old), but here we are. And this set definitely looks nice and seems like it'd be extremely comfy. Heck, I could even go to the store in it!

This Oversized Sweater Because It Looks Insanely Comfy

via: Amazon

These days, I want my wardrobe to have more of a blanket-like quality than it currently does. Meaning, I want to feel like I'm wearing a big, cozy blanket at all times. I think this oversized cable knit sweater would give that to me. Plus, it comes in a variety of cute colors to choose from. Who knew Amazon had such great clothes?!

This Hand Cream Because I Wash My Hands 500 Times Per Day

via: Amazon

As I sit here typing this, I'm also staring at the horribly dry, cracked, and bloody skin on my hands. It's due to a combination of the air being much drier lately and the fact that I have to wash my hands and use hand sanitizer constantly in an effort to avoid germs. I want to keep this ultra-healing hand lotion on my desk to finally get some relief.

This Diaper Bag Because It Doesn't Look Like A Diaper Bag

via: Amazon

Most diaper bags simply aren't very attractive. But this one is! In fact, at first glance, no one would even be able to tell that it's a diaper bag. Inside, however, there's a treasure trove of pockets and pouches so I'd have a spot for all of my son's on-the-go essentials without having to sacrifice style. Where has this thing been for the last 6 months of my life?!

This Lip Balm Set Because Wisconsin Winters Are Brutal

via: Amazon

EOS has moved beyond its unique circular-shaped lip balms and recently introduced this four-pack that features a traditional shape with the same moisturizing formula we've come to know and love. I, personally, have always had a slight obsession with EOS lip balms, so when I came across this pretty (and 100% organic!) set I knew that it had to be mine.

This Sock Set Because My Feet Are Always Freezing

via: Amazon

I love comfy socks, yet for some reason, I have to spend what feels like hours each morning searching for a pair that 1, matches, 2, is free from holes, and 3, will be warm enough to protect me from the harsh winter winds. This five-pack features fun colors and whimsical patterns that will brighten up even the bleakest of days.

This Slouchy Hat Because It's Fun And Functional

via: Amazon

Another solution to a bad hair day? Just throw on a cute hat to cover it up! Luckily for me, we're right in the middle of hat season. This slouchy number is way more stylish than a traditional winter hat, and the faux fur poof on the end adds just the right amount of whimsy. Oh, and it'll keep my head warm. Win-win!

These Bibs With A Built-In Pocket Because Babies Are Slobs

via: Amazon

I recently introduced peas to my son and it did not go well. There was green goop all over everything: His high chair, my dining room chair, my shirt, his shirt, my hair...I don't even think he ate any of it. These bibs are not only easy to wipe off, but they have built-in pockets to help keep the mess contained.
